Dacon name change and change of company type to PLC
On Friday the 22nd of July 2022 Dacon Inspection Technologies announced it was changing it’s company name to DEXON Technology at an inhouse event. The name change better reflects the companies ambitions and plans for the future, beyond non-destructive testing (NDT) and conventional intelligent in-line inspection (ILI) services. The name change also coincides with the changing of the company type from a limited company (Co., Ltd) to a public limited company (PLC), as part of the process to list on the Thai Stock Exchange (SET) in early 2023.
Martin Stuvik, Chairman to the Executive Committee was quoted saying. “We wanted to incorporate inspection, innovation, and technology development into the new name especially as DEXON’s origins are soo firmly rooted in technology development.”
At the heart of DEXON is the DEXON Research Development and Engineering (RD&E) department which focuses on the development of new inspection technologies. Since the launching of Dacon’s NDT and ILI programs in 1993 the RD&E has been at the center of DEXON’s business. Including the development of the world’s first ILI tools capable of inspecting High Density Poly Ethylene pipelines. On July 25th DEXON also successfully completed a blind inspection verification run of the newly developed UT Hawk ILI system in Canada. Offering up to 1 million samples per square meter and 90% probability of detection (POD) down to 1 mm.
